IGET Bar Not Working? 7 Fixes to Try First

IGET Aus  ·  Updated 8 September 2026

Most devices that seem dead are not. Work through these in order — the first two solve the large majority of cases we hear about.

1. Remove the plug from the base

A brand-new IGET Bar ships with a silicone plug in the bottom that blocks airflow in transit. Leave it in and the device will draw weakly or not at all. This is comfortably the most common reason a new Bar appears faulty. Full unboxing steps are in our guide on how to open an IGET Bar.

2. Take a longer, slower draw

These devices are draw-activated and the sensor needs a real pull to trigger. A short, sharp puff often will not fire it. Draw slowly and steadily for a couple of seconds.

3. Check for a burnt taste

If it fires but tastes scorched or dry, the device is not broken — the e-liquid is spent. That is the end of a sealed device, and no amount of troubleshooting brings it back.

4. Charge it, if it is a rechargeable model

A Bar Pro or Bar Plus S3 that has gone quiet is often just flat. Put it on a standard USB-C cable and try again. If it will not charge, our charging guide covers cables, ports and lint. A sealed classic Bar cannot be charged at all — see can you recharge an IGET Bar.

5. Reseat the pod (Bar Plus S3)

If your Bar Plus has stopped, pull the pod out and press it firmly back in. A pod that is not fully seated breaks the contact and the device will not fire. Wipe the contacts on the device and the pod base dry while it is out.

6. Clear the mouthpiece and airflow

Pocket lint blocks both. Check the mouthpiece opening and the airflow slots and clear them with a dry cotton bud. Never poke anything metal into the device.

7. Let it warm up

A device left in a cold car overnight can behave oddly until it returns to room temperature, because cold liquid wicks slowly. Give it twenty minutes indoors before concluding anything.

Still nothing?

If a device genuinely arrived faulty, contact us with your order number and we will sort it — do not try to open it. Stop using any device that gets hot, swells, leaks or smells burnt, and dispose of it at an e-waste point rather than in household waste.

FAQs

Why is my brand new IGET Bar not working?

Most often the silicone plug in the base has not been removed, which blocks airflow. Remove it and take a longer, slower draw.

My IGET Bar tastes burnt. Can I fix it?

No. A burnt taste means the e-liquid is spent and a sealed device has reached the end of its life.

Why has my IGET Bar Plus stopped working?

Usually a flat battery or a pod that is not fully seated. Charge it, then pull the pod out and press it firmly back in.
